History

The Jindalee Hotel and Functions Centre, located just 12 kilometres south-west of Brisbane and a short 15-minute drive from the city centre, is one of the city’s most exciting venues.

First opening its doors in 2004, we have catered for patrons in Brisbane’s western suburbs for more than 20 years. We like to say we are “the best in the west”.

The suburb of Jindalee was developed during the 1960s and 1970s, growing from the rural locality of Seventeen Mile Rocks to a popular residential area. The name Seventeen Mile Rocks originates from a series of rocks in the Brisbane River, first charted by John Oxley in 1823, which posed significant navigational challenges for early settlers.

The Jindalee Hotel has been a central part of this community since its opening in 1973.

We offer a range of hospitality from excellent dining in our bistro – until 2017 known as The Roadhouse Grill – to our Sports Bar to our Gaming Room with 45 machines. There is also our Keno Lounge where you are welcome to enjoy a complementary tea or coffee, all in air-conditioned comfort and plush surroundings.

We feature live music including ‘90s five-piece Britpop tribute band Cool Britannia, back again by popular demand playing all the hits from Oasis, Blur, Pulp, Stone Roses, The Wonder Stuff, The Charlatans, Supergrass, The Verve, Happy Mondays and more.

We also offer seven function settings, including a Grand Ballroom or a sophisticated and chic cocktail lounge bar located above our Restaurant.

We have “theme” events through the week including Karaoke, Trivia and Bingo.

We are a family-friendly venue and have a kid’s area where we have visits from magicians and even sometimes Spiderman!

With exceptional service, great dining, live entertainment and major gaming promotions running throughout the year, we’ve got everything covered.

With excellent food, a great array of beverages and personalised service, tell your friends …“Let’s meet at The Jindalee”.
